Halibut with Tomato Salsa

7 Seas Fish Market Halibut with Tomato Salsa

(serves 4)

Indulge in 7 Seas Fish Market's Tomato Salsa Halibut, where the gentle sweetness of the fish harmonizes with the lively, fresh flavors of ripe tomatoes, onions, and herbs.

What you need:

  • 1 cup diced Tomatoes
  • ¼ cup diced Red Onion
  • 2 chopped Garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp chopped Cilantro
  • 1 whole Lime, juiced
  • 2 tbsp Sea Salt, to taste
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil or Butter
  • 2 lb Halibut Filet/Portions (4 x 6oz or 8oz, skin on or skin off)

Preheat oven to 375 F.

Add the halibut to an oven dish, season with salt and olive oil, then add the salsa on top. Roast for 8-10 minutes per inch of thickness until desired doneness. Serve with mashed potatoes and steamed asparagus.

Pan Frying

In a large pan, heat oil over medium-high heat. Season the halibut with salt, add to the pan, then add the salsa. Keep the heat at 7/10 and fry for 8-10 minutes per inch of thickness total time, flipping halfway through. Serve as above.

4 servings

Note: Adjust the cooking times based on the thickness of the salmon fillets and personal preference for doneness. For salmon, cooking for 8-10 minutes per inch of thickness on a medium to high heat to reach a medium rare doneness is recommended.

Disclaimer: ensure the quality of your seafood before eating. See the Ultimate Guide to Halibut for more notes on how to check for freshness via sensory test (mostly sight and smell).
